El Roi’s Nursery
Huntsville, AL
In 2022, Sarah Atnip became a new mom. She found the first six months of motherhood to be challenging, so she felt called to start an organization dedicated to helping new moms in her community. The inspiration for El Roi’s Nursery came when Atnip was looking to donate her baby’s clothes. Each item held a precious memory, and she wanted to ensure the items went to someone in need. However, she found no local organizations that could facilitate this. It was then that she felt a divine calling to be the change she wanted to see. Thus, El Roi’s Nursery was born. Lending a helping hand with branded promotional productsA branded banner and table filled with baby shower gifts. Today, El Roi’s Nursery offers a range of services to support new mothers. Its flagship initiative is the pop-up baby shower, a unique event that provides moms in need with six months of basic necessities. From diapers and formula to bottles and lotion, these showers ensure that new moms have everything they need to care for their newborns. El Roi’s Nursery goes above and beyond to make each shower special. For their nursery and the party, the moms-to-be are invited to choose a theme, which they incorporate into all of the gifts. “Many of the moms are just grateful for anything that we can provide for them, but God cares about the details, so we do too,” said Atnip. In addition to these baby showers, El Roi’s Nursery also runs a donation program called Hagar’s Helping Hands. This program provides financial assistance or necessary items to moms going through unexpected tough times, such as emergency foster placements, unexpected NICU stays and loss due to natural disasters. The mission of El Roi’s Nursery is to ensure expectant and new mothers facing hardship feel seen, heard and loved. An essential component of the organization’s growth strategy is to attend community events and raise awareness of the work that they’re doing and the donations they need to continue this work. Branding promotional products, like a logoed table cloth and retractable sign, help El Roi’s Nursery stand out and be remembered at events. A cycle of giving Atnip, the heart and soul of El Roi’s Nursery, has seen firsthand the impact of her organization. In one example, a mom who was in a life-recovery program and was effectively starting over discovered she was pregnant. El Roi’s Nursery stepped in, hosted a pop-up baby shower for her and covered her basic needs for the first six months. The same mom’s apartment caught fire after the baby was born. El Roi’s Nursery was there again, helping her recuperate the items she needed. Overwhelmed with gratitude, this mom has since donated what she received back to the organization, a testament to the cycle of giving that El Roi’s Nursery promotes. Seeing and being seen Looking ahead, El Roi’s Nursery has a pop-up baby shower on the horizon. It maintains a wish list so people can donate needed items to new moms. Giving and receiving is what makes El Roi’s Nursery a beacon of hope in the community, a testament to the power of compassion and the strength of motherhood.
